Dr. Farzaneh Rahimpour

A) Articles:

She has published 10 papers in accredited internal and external journals. The latest article published by her, indexed in PubMed database, is entitled “the Concurrent Effects of Exposure to Noise on Blood Pressure”. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 604 employees of the steel industry. In this study, people were categorized according to the amount of smoking cigarette and exposure to noise in 4 groups: 1) Non-smokers without exposure to high noise, 2) Smokers without exposure to high noise, 3) Non-smokers with exposure to high noise, and 4) Smokers with exposure to high noise. The results of this study suggested that high noise exposure affects people's blood pressure. However, there is no significant difference in the blood pressure of people exposed concurrently to high noise and smoking. Based on the results, a periodic review of blood pressure is recommended in workers working in very noisy environments. It is worth mentioning that she has so far published a paper entitled “the Study of Occupational Postures and Musculoskeletal Problems in Dentists” in ISI database in the International Journal of Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health.

B) Conferences

She has presented a number of papers in the International Congress on Infections Prevention Strategies in Patients, held for the first time in April 2015 in Mashhad. The main topics of the congress are as follows: Infection control in the hospital and community, vaccination and disease prevention, rational use of antibiotics, patient care-related infections (nosocomial infections), medical equipment-related infections, digestive system infections, bone, joint and soft tissues, central nervous system, respiratory system, sexually transmitted emerging and reemerging infections, tropical infections and infections of the cardiovascular system. The paper presented in this congress is entitled “the evaluation of the immunity status of hospital staff against hepatitis B virus”. In this study, 311 hospital staff were evaluated. 92.2% of the subjects had a history of vaccination against hepatitis B virus. There was no significant relationship between the individuals’ age and work experience and hepatitis B vaccination. Based on the results of this study, the level of immunity against hepatitis B in hospital staff is not sufficient, and it is recommended that applicants should be evaluated at the start of their employment regarding vaccination against this virus and the assessment of the level of associated antibodies.
