Dr. Lahya Afshari Saleh
Dr. Lahya Afshari Saleh is a faculty member of the Department of Occupational Medicine at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS) and her main research areas are work-related sleep disorders, respiratory diseases and skin conditions. Some of her most valuable articles have been indexed in the ISI database, one of which is entitled the “Evaluation of Respiratory Problems and Pulmonary Function Indices in the Workers of the Cement Industry”, which was published in the Medycyna Pracy Journal in 2015. Moreover, she presented an article in the form of a poster in the International Congress on the Preventive Strategies for Patients’ Infections and the Global Congress on Occupational Safety and Health, which was held in Frankfurt (Germany) in 2014.
It is notable that Dr. Afshari Saleh has authored three books in the field of medicine, which are named “Work Environment Emergencies”, “Occupational Hazards in the Staff of the Emergency Department” and “Splint Techniques.” Occupational Hazards in the Staff of the Emergency Department mainly emphasizes on the numerous hazards that threaten the health of emergency section workers. In this book, the author has first discussed the biological risk factors in terms of the epidemiological aspects, prevention methods, prophylaxis, and the necessary follow-up upon encounter. Moving on, the book focuses on the associated physical and chemical risk factors, as well as the psychological hazardous factors. The first edition of this book was printed and published by Parastaran Javan Publications in 2015. In Work Environment Emergencies, the author has complied the common scientific concepts regarding the two specialized fields of emergency medicine and occupational medicine, with the aim of promoting the management of acute occupational incidents and illnesses and scientifically evaluating the occupational fitness of the victim. The first edition of this book was published in 2016.
